“Amazing job and friendly helpful guys all around.”
My name’s Kurt Halverson, and my family has run Rockford Family Movers out of Machesney Park since 2009. Rockford is home base for us β Illinois’ third-largest city, straddling the Rock River, with the Coronado Theatre and City Market downtown and machine-tool and aerospace history in its bones. We grew up moving neighbors here, and the crew that shows up on your driveway is family, not a call center.
The older neighborhoods are where our reputation got built. Churchill’s Grove and Edgewater are full of century-old homes with steep front stoops, tight interior stairwells, and no driveway to pull a truck onto. Signal Hill runs the same way. We stage the truck on the street the right way, protect the banisters, and get a piano or a hutch down those narrow turns without a scratch.
You get one flat number in writing before a single box goes on the truck β pads, dollies, and shrink-wrap folded in, no hourly meter creeping up while you watch from the porch.
- Century-old homes in Churchill’s Grove, Edgewater, and Signal Hill with tight stairwells and no driveway
- Riverside streets near the Rock River where spring snowmelt can flood the approach
- Downsizing retirees from Rockford’s manufacturing generation who want an honest price, not a surprise
| Crew | Rate | Fits |

| 3 movers + truck | $175/hr | Full historic houses, packed basements, full packs |
Most Rockford jobs run through our local moving crew. Head just north up the river and Loves Park runs on the same family team and rate, and our full service list covers everything from one bedroom to a long haul down I-90.
